Husband charged with knifing wife to death in Queens spa

A 25-year-old man was charged Wednesday with stabbing his wife to death in a Queens spa, police said.

Jiahai Ma was charged with murder, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment.

Police said he killed his wife, Jui Mei Tang, 26, at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday when he walked into the Spring Garden Spa on Kissena Blvd. near Barclay Ave. in Flushing.

A number of customers and workers appear to have witnessed the confrontation, with the victim stabbed a number of times in the body and neck.

Medics rushed her to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital but she could not be saved.

The husband was arrested at the scene, police said, and the knife was recovered.

The husband has no prior arrest record, police said, but it was not yet clear what sparked the attack.

The couple lived less than a half-mile away. A woman who knew Tang said she and her husband were from Guizhou, China.
