A manhunt is underway for a suspected hitman in Canada who was caught on video during an alleged job last fall — in which he posed as a delivery guy and shot a homeowner with a crossbow that he had hidden inside of a package, according to cops.

“This was most definitely a targeted type of attack,” Peel police Det. Sgt. Jim Kettles told reporters at a press conference on Monday. “The crossbow was never removed from the box.”

Surveillance footage shows the attempted killer, who appears to be wearing a wig, standing outside the victim’s door with a cardboard box — which had a hole cut into it on one end so the arrow could shoot through.

“It is clear that this attack was meant to end the victim’s life,” Kettles said. “Comments made to the victim (by the suspect) indicate the victim was targeted and that the suspect may have carried out the attack at the request of another individual.”

The attempted hit was carried out on November 7, but police are only just now releasing the video of the suspect. Officials said the woman he attacked — described as a 44-year-old from Mississauga, Ontario — was still dealing with physical and emotional trauma.

“The injuries that she sustained were absolutely devastating,” Kettles said, noting how the suspected hitman was wielding a crossbow that’s typically used by big-game hunters to kill moose and other large animals.

“It involved damage to a lot of her internal organs,” Kettles added. “She’ll be in recovery phase for the rest of her life … Her life will never be the same.”

Authorities have identified “potential motives” for the attempted slaying, but are refusing to say what they could be. They’ve asked for the public’s help in finding the suspect.

“We are open to anything at this point,” Kettles said, “and we are looking at all possible investigative avenues.”
