Footage has captured the horror moment a pilot and passenger nearly crashed their plane in a town in suburban Sydney while making a nervy landing.
The aircraft – a Cessna plane – lost power during the flight, leaving the pilot no choice but to make a mayday call and try and guide his plane back to the ground safely.
Nine News footage showed the plane hurtling down to the ground passing very close to trees and buildings.
Pilot Jake Swanepoel told CNN: “It was gliding, there was no power. We clipped the trees, and we just made it over the hanger.”
He managed to bring the plane down safely on an airport taxiway, with the bottom of the aircraft skidding against the ground.

Swanepoel and his partner Karin climbed out of the aircraft uninjured.
Karin added: “We didn’t think we were going to make this landing strip here.”
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau told CNN that it is looking into the incident to decide whether a more in-depth investigation needs to be launched.
Karin said: “It was scary and nerve-wracking because you were thinking about all these homes… if you don’t make the runway.”
When asked how they would celebrate reaching the runway, Swanepoel joked: “Nothing, just be alive.”
