This summer, Kevin Costner releases his two-part Western epic Horizon: An American saga.
Chapter 1, which clocks in at 3 hours, is set to hit cinemas on June 28, followed by Chapter 2 on August 16.
Taking place during the American Civil War, movies star Costner (who also directed both films) alongside Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Danny Huston and more.
This is the Yellowstone lead’s first time directing since 2003’s Open Range and revisits the Civil War-era of his directorial debut Dances with Wolves, which won Best Picture and Best Director.
Horizon: An American Saga’s official synopsis reads: “In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic Westerns, Horizon: An American Saga” explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won—and lost—through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.”
