Hidden cameras were found inside the home of a 59-year-old Connecticut man arrested for solicitation of a 14-year-old boy.
According to authorities, John Degennaro, of Guilford, pursued “an intimate relationship” with the teen, “including sexual contact and the exchange of nude photographs.”
Law enforcement began investigating Degennaro last month in connection to online communications with a minor from another town, the Guilford Police Department said Wednesday.
“Degennaro agreed to pay for an Uber to have the juvenile transported to the train station,” cops said. “The juvenile then took the train to New Haven where he was picked up by Degennaro. Degennaro then brought the juvenile to an area mall, where he purchased him thousands of dollars’ worth of items.”
Degennaro was arrested after authorities determined the teenager spent several nights at his home.
“During the investigation, it was determined that Degennaro had hidden cameras in his residence and was recording sexual activity without the knowledge or consent of other individuals,” police added.
Anyone who has visited the residence, located at 201 Church Street in Guilford, and may have been the victim of a crime are encouraged to contact law enforcement. DeGennaro is being held on $250,000 bond.
