Interestingly, despite breakfast being the most frequently skipped meal, there’s been a 23% surge in demand for ‘best breakfast foods for energy’. The health gurus at Benenden Health are urging Brits to stop missing meals and have shared their top picks for breakfast foods and pantry staples that can naturally enhance energy levels.
They advise: “Try to eat three balanced meals a day, basing your meals on whole foods rather than ultra-processed foods which often contain higher levels of sugar and trans fats.”
They caution against reaching for energy drinks, large cups of coffee or sugary snacks when energy levels dip, as these can cause blood sugar spikes followed by crashes. Instead, they recommend healthier, cheaper alternatives that you may already have at home.
