A crew of sticky-fingered thieves who swiped soda, chips and snack cakes from the shelves of a Harlem bodega stabbed a 35-year-old worker who tried to stop them, cops said Saturday.
The worker was inside 145 Food Plaza at the corner of Lenox Ave. and W. 145th St. at about 3 p.m. Tuesday when five teens walked in and started grabbing items off the shelves.
The employee chased the teens out of the store and got into an argument with one of the thieves, who pulled a knife and jammed it into his stomach, cops said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital. He is expected to survive his injury.
The five suspects ran off toward Madison Ave., cops said. No arrests were made.
Police on Saturday released images of the crooks, in the hope someone recognizes them.
Anyone with information regarding these teens is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
