Giants WR Malik Nabers to miss second straight game with concussion

Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers will miss a second straight game with a concussion.

Nabers did not progress in his on-field activity Friday and is out for Sunday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, head coach Brian Daboll said.

Nabers attended a Travis Scott concert at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday night. His presence there while in the concussion protocol has drawn attention and criticism from fans on social media.

Daboll said he will keep any reaction to Nabers attending the concert “in-house,” but the coach did say Nabers did not violate any protocol by attending the event.

The coach assured that the reason Nabers wasn’t progressing late this week in the protocol was because he had suffered a “pretty good concussion,” meaning a pretty serious one.

Daboll was asked if Nabers was knocked unconscious on the play he went down against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, and the coach didn’t say no.

The Giants beat the Seahawks in Seattle last Sunday without Nabers. So they’ll have to try to do it again on Sunday against the 1-4 Bengals.

This is a developing story, check back for updates.
