“It’s really hard, it really is,” she said over balancing her work and home life.
“My better half works in the hockey world, and so his season is going on at the same time.
“This was a really, really hard year. I’ll going to get emotional about it.
“The first year when Mack was a newborn, it was fine.
“It was like smell ya later and I really wasn’t really saying that, but it was like, ‘OK, bye!’
“We worked so hard to have Mack, and it took us forever to have him — and we faced a lot of loss, and he finally came.
“I had this attitude like, ‘I have this carer and this is how it’s going to be.’ And then he starts talking and realizing you’re leaving, and it was just really, really hard.
“And then I felt like the time I wasn’t studying, or on calls with players, or on Zooms that I had to be with him and not worrying about my clothing line and the podcast.”
Andrews is married to former NHL star Jarret Stoll, who she wed in June 2017.
Her future with Fox Sports is up in the air, after her contract ended at the end of the NFL season in February.
She also had a clothing line to go alongside her broadcasting career.
“I would just have multiple meltdowns with Charissa saying, ‘I feel like I’m not giving 100 percent of myself to my son, or my job or my clothing line and I feel like I am barely above water.’,” Andrews added.
“And then your relationships start to suffer.
“I didn’t see any of my girlfriends throughout football season and then I got through it and I had a couple weeks off.
“I’ve said to her, ‘I don’t know,’ excuse me, ‘How the f*** I did that,’ this year because I’m also traveling.”
Andrews also had a fight with cervical cancer in September 2016.
The former Dancing With the Stars host later underwent successful surgery.
“And I didn’t do myself any favors with how hard on myself I was, I didn’t,” she added.
“But I’m excited about next year and I’m excited to take what I’ve learned with everything and apply it to this year.
“I need to go easier on myself and I’ve realized that.
“I was to worried I was wasn’t giving all of myself to both things that I was doing the best I could and everybody’s fine.
“I just need to give myself a little grace.”
