Gary Neville ups pressure on Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp with Mohamed Salah transfer claim

Manchester United star Gary Neville has claimed that Salah will leave Liverpool during the next summer transfer window.

He “guarantees” that the Egypt international will exit the club, leaving Klopp to find a decent replacement.

Salah has been a terrific signing for Liverpool, scoring 54 Premier League goals over the past two seasons and helping the club to win the Champions League last season.

But, Neville doesn’t think his stay on Merseyside will be lasting much longer.

“Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months – I can see it already,” Gary Neville told Sky Bet’s The Big Season Debate.

“Salah will leave, he will, I can absolutely guarantee you.

“He [Jamie Carragher] knows, he won’t say it.

“I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it.”

Salah has become a firm fans’ favourite at Liverpool after his electric reintroduction to Premier League football.

He was signed by Chelsea in 2014, but he was never given a chance to impress Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho.

Salah was subsequently sent out on loan to both Fiorentina and Roma, before joining Roma in a permanent deal worth £14million in 2017.

After a single season in Italy, Liverpool spent £38m to bring him to Anfield, where his career skyrocketed.

The Egyptian would be almost irreplaceable for Klopp, and if he were to leave next summer, Liverpool would be likely to feel the effects of his absence.

Salah wasn’t linked to any other clubs during the last transfer window – mainly because his transfer value would be far too high for any team.

But, Sky Sports pundit Neville appears adamant that Liverpool will lose him by the start of next season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s next Premier League match is this Saturday (3pm) at Southampton.
