Fortnite live event lobby warning – Epic investigates loading issues ahead of Marvel event

Fortnite developer Epic Games has issued a warning to players ahead of the imminent live event. Taking place on October 5, the Doctor Doom Marvel event has a 7pm BST start time for fans living in the UK. Unfortunately, however, it looks like the Battle Royale servers may already be experiencing issues, despite the event not starting for another hour. Epic Games is currently investigating loading issues within the Fortnite lobbies. Leaderboards are also said to be taking longer than usual to update. While this won’t necessarily have a knock on effect with the event, it’s definitely worth logging in sooner rather than later, just to guarantee your spot.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X (formerly Twitter): “We’re aware the Lobby is loading slowly for some players, as well as leaderboards taking longer to load than usual.

“We’re working on a fix and will update as we know more.”

Fingers crossed Epic fixes the issue before the start of the event, because fans won’t want to miss it due to lengthy loading times.

The Doom is Coming event once again sees Doctor Doom return to the Fortnite Battle Royale island.

As you can see from the teaser below, however, his appearance isn’t exactly a welcome one.

We’re not entirely sure what will happen during the event, but based on the aforementioned teaser trailer, Doctor Doom is going to cause havoc.

Indeed, according to the latest teaser, players are going to need to pay a visit to Stark’s mobile armouries to help overcome Doctor Doom.

“Stark’s mobile armouries are pointed as the timer nears zero! We’re going to need your help with this one,” reads an Epic teaser.

It’s also unclear if Epic plans to replay the event, so stick around for more information.
