Former “Gossip Girl” star Taylor Momsen is undergoing two weeks of rabies shots as she recovers from a wild bat bite she received while performing on AC/DC’s Power Up tour this week.
The incident occurred Wednesday during a performance in Sevilla, Spain, as her band, The Pretty Reckless, played the opening act. Momsen apparently didn’t notice the live bat clinging to her leg until people in the audience started yelling out.
“You guys are pointing at something and I wanna know what you’re saying,” Momsen can be heard telling the crowd in a video she shared to Instagram Friday.
In the footage, Momsen can be seen discovering the bat and then asking for assistance. Eventually, a crew member comes onstage and pulls the nocturnal creature off her leg.
“So…ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT…in Sevilla Wednesday during ‘Witches Burn’ of all songs… a BAT flew onto me and clung to my leg,” Momsen wrote in the caption of the video. “In the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing.”
Momsen miraculously remained calm during the moment and reassured the audience that both she and the bat were fine.
“He was cute, but yes he bit me…so rabies shots for the next two weeks,” her caption continued. “Thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news … that’s one for the books!!!!”
