A FORGOTTEN girlband star looks completely unrecognisable almost three decades after finding fame.

The Nineties songstress, who has traded in chart success for an office role in London, posted a series of sultry selfies to her Instagram page.

Alida Swart rocketed to music success in pop band Vanilla.

Alongside siblings Frances and Alison Potter and Sharon Selby, the group was signed up to EMI and released two singles.

Their catchy debut No Way, No Way, released in December 1997, went down in pop history and reached number 14 on the UK singles chart.

At the time, Alida wore her brunette locks in a short style, with the ends brushing her ears.

She kept her make-up fresh and oozed stylish chic in vest tops and jeans.

Now the singer, who changed career to work in a telecoms firm, has showcased her new look.

Alida posted a series of black and white snaps to her social media page showing her flashing a smile as she posed in her home.

She wore a dark long-sleeve top for her selfies, which firstly saw her beaming for the camera before she flashed a pout and held her face in her hand.

Alida donned fluttering eyelash extensions but kept the rest of her make-up natural.

SPEAKING OUT

The True To Us hitmaker recently spoke out about No Way, No Way, and her fond memories.

While she has a new career now, her Instagram bio still references her former famous career and states: “Singer, songwriter, Vanilla band member.”

She recently told The Guardian: “When we first heard it we just laughed.

“Then we looked at each other. Two of us wanted to be doing R&B.

“But we thought ‘We might as well do it.'”

She added: “People still tell me today that they remember this song.

“It’s been nominated as the worst song of the 90s quite a few times, but at least it’s remembered.”
