Four popular supermarkets have been forced to withdraw products from shelves following food recalls.
The alerts, issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), identified problems with items including jars of pickle, and cookies sold in Lidl.
Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Waitrose also warned customers of recalled products, and those who purchased them could be entitled to a refund.
Poundland shoppers have also been urged to check their recent purchases following an allergy warning linked to Doritos crisps.
The budget retailer joined Tesco in removing selected batches of the popular snacks from UK stores.
Doritos recalled Doritos Tangy Cheese 180g flavour from Tesco stores because soya had not been declared on the ingredients list, making the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya.
The crisp company has also issued a recall for their Tangy Cheese 5x30g multipack from Poundland stores.

If anyone has purchased the above product and has an allergy to soya, the FSA warned “do not eat it”.
AB World Foods urged customers to check the date on recently purchased Patak’s Aubergine Pickle jars after it was discovered that there could be a possibility they contain glass.
The product, sold in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores, was named in an alert by the Food Standards Agency, which cautioned: “The possible presence of glass makes this product unsafe to eat.”
AB World Foods added: “The decision has been taken out of an abundance of caution and is linked to the very low risk of a possible presence of glass. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Lidl also issued a customer safety warning as numerous cookies sold in stores could contain pieces of metal. The FSA said: “Lidl is extending their recall of various cookies because they may contain pieces of metal. The possible presence of metal makes these products unsafe to eat.”
