A Five Guys employee shared a secret menu hack using ingredients from the beloved fast food chain’s kitchen.

In a video posted to TikTok, the worker showed a new way to prepare fries at Five Guys.

The recipe calls for fries topped with a mixture of ground beef with onions and bell peppers.

The whole dish is then sauced in melted cheese and Cajun seasoning.

ORIGINS

The dish is an adaptation of Ro-Tel fries, popular in Texas and other neighboring states.

Ro-Tel is a brand of canned diced tomatoes and chopped chili peppers that originated in Texas.

Homemade Ro-Tel fries are commonly made with Velveeta cheese dip and ground beef.

The chopped beef, onion, and pepper “Ro-Tel” mixture simulates the canned variety, while the melted cheese takes the place of the Velveeta.

FAN REACTIONS

Viewers in the comments shared their responses to the creative recipe, with some wanting to try it for themselves.

“Tell them put it on the menu,” one fan wrote.

“What do I say to order this at the register?” another asked.

“Bruh that looks amazing!!” said another.

Meanwhile, some TikTok users in the comments expressed doubt that the ambitious recipe would catch on.

“‘Secret menu hack,'” one viewer responded sarcastically.

“No its just what restaurant employees do with the food to customize the way they’d like to eat. No where does this [sic].”

“Nope they won’t do this,” another added.
