In January Channel 4 confirmed Prue’s close friend Caroline Waldegrave OBE would take over her role.
Now, in an exclusive first look at Celebrity Bake Off, Caroline can be seen in the famous tent alongside Paul Hollywood.
One of the 72-year-old’s first critiques is the scones of TV presenter Scarlette Douglas.
After biting into the treat, Caroline remarks: “Bit hard on the outside and soft on the inside, aren’t they.”
She concluded: “The taste is really good, absolutely delicious.”
Paul Hollywood agreed, though stopped short of offering one of his famous handshakes to Scarlette.
He told her: “I actually think the bake’s well.
“I love the ginger in there, I think the ginger works really well and the rum comes through beautifully.”
Bake Off fans will see Caroline make her debut during The Great Celebrity Bake Off this Sunday at 7:40pm on Channel 4.
Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding will also return as hosts.
This year Bake Off features a married couple as well as TV siblings.
Competing is a raft of actors, including Jim Howick, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Maxine Peake, Self Esteem AKA Rebecca Lucy Taylor, Meera Syal and Sophie Willan taking part.
Also donning their aprons is broadcaster Sarah Beeny, creator of Chicken Shop Date Amelia Dimoldenberg and sibling TV presenters Scarlette and Stuart Douglas.
Other household names include GMB’s Kate Garraway, model and author Ellie Goldstein, Loose Women Gloria Hunniford OBE, Roman Kemp, Chris and Rosie Ramsey as well as comedians Tommy Tiernan, Adam Buxton and Phil Wang.
Meanwhile, Prue previously addressed her future altogether on Bake Off.
She said: “I won’t leave in a hurry, but I will leave some time because I’m getting ancient.”
