AMERICANS can cash in on a huge payout of up to $5,000 from a $6 million data breach settlement.
The money is being handed out by UNITE HERE to settle claims that it compromised sensitive information, after failing to prevent a data breach in 2023.

UNITE HERE is a labor union in the US and Canada, representing hospitality, gaming, food service, airport, transportation and other workers.
The union has roughly 300,000 active members.
It agreed to a $6 million class action lawsuit to resolve claims about a data breach that reportedly took place on October 20, 2023.
The data breach is said to have compromised names, social security numbers, financial account information, payment card data, health insurance information and other sensitive data.
Plaintiffs in the lawsuit argue that UNITE HERE’s failure to put in place basic security procedures and protocols violated The New York Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
They also argue that the failure to implement such measures did not comply with FTC guidelines and accepted industry standards.
UNITE HERE has not admitted wrongdoing but agreed to a $6 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations.
Class members who experienced out-of-pocket expenses can receive a payout of up to $5,000 – once providing a document of proof.
Members can also receive two years of free credit monitoring services regardless.
The deadline for submitting a valid claim form is April 28.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is May 12.
Meanwhile, Americans who got slammed with robocalls from UnitedHealthcare could soon cash in, as the company has agreed to cough up $3.49million to settle a class action lawsuit.
Anyone who received the calls during October 12, 2019, and February 10, 2025 can file a claim and get between $50 and $125.
And no proof is required to file – all you need is to just fill out a claim form by April 25.
Americans can also receive up to $500 from Professional Finance Co.’s (PFC) $2.5 million data breach settlement.
Professional Finance Co. is a debt management company that collects debt on behalf of healthcare providers, retailers, banks and other businesses.
The company agreed to the class action lawsuit to settle claims it failed to prevent a 2022 data breach.
The deadline for submitting a valid claim form is April 25.
Americans can also get up to $4,000 from a $7.5 million data breach settlement.
PostMeds Inc. is transferring the money to settle claims it compromised sensitive information in a data breach in 2023.
PostMeds, Inc., which does business as Truepill, provides online pharmacy delivery services.
To receive the cash, consumers need to submit a valid claim form by May 12.
