Final days until Lowe’s closes down all 1,700 locations for 24 hours – and Ace Hardware won’t be any help

SHOPPERS only have a few days left before Lowe’s closes down all of its 1,700 locations for 24 hours, and Ace Hardware will do the same.

This will leave shoppers scrambling to find an alternative, with few big name retailers left to serve customers.

Lowe’s is following many other major retailers as it closes its doors for Easter Sunday.

This year, that day falls on April 20, this coming weekend.

The US Sun reported the news recently, which will also see Ace Hardware close for the day.

There is one main alternative, however, that will be left to sweep up the business.

The Home Depot is set to remain open on Easter Sunday.

Both Lowe’s and The Home Depot will remain closed for business on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

WHAT ELSE IS CLOSED?

Much to the disappointment of shoppers, a few major supermarket retailers will also be shut for Easter Sunday, The US Sun has confirmed.

Costco, Target, Aldi and Sam’s Club will all shut completely for the day.

A spokesperson for Target said of the temporary shutdown: “Guests can expect regular store hours on April 19 and can check Target.com or the Target app for local store information.”

The best way to check what your local store is doing is to go to the website and find your select location.

For example, Costco’s website confirms the move which will see shoppers all over the country shut out for the day.

Inn terms of supermarkets, the most viable alternatives will be places like Walmart, Dollar Tree, Dollar General and Whole Foods.

The Easter closures have also hit the department stores.

TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and HomeGoods will be shutting out customers, The US Sun reported.

• Hobby Lobby
• Homesense
• Kohl’s
• Lowe’s
• Macy’s
• Sierra

WHAT WILL BE OPEN ON EASTER SUNDAY?

One of the main types of store that will remain open on Sunday is the reliable fast food joint.

Americans tried of candy on Easter Sunday can instead head out to their local McDonald’s, Jack-in-the-Box or Pizza Hut, to name a few.

Others include Dunkin’, Burger King and Starbucks.

Some of these locations may be running limited hours, however.

And some stores like CVS that run extra services like a pharmacy may have those closed or operating under limited hours for the holiday.

Americans are advised to check your local store’s open hours on the day in question.
