LEBRON James was forced to miss the Met Gala this week after a worrying update.
The basketball icon, 40, shared the news with his fans on social media.

His wife Savannah was forced to attend alone in New York.
She looked elegant and glamorous in a burgundy suit jacket and tie.
Savannah completed the look with a matching flowing skirt.
She didn’t have her husband of 12 years LeBron by her side on the red carpet.
And James told fans in advance of the reason for his absence.
He said on X, “Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY.
“So many people have been asking and congratulating me on.
“Hate to miss an historical event.
“My beautiful powerful Queen will be there holding the castle down as she always has done.”
The news left NBA fans worried for his future.
One wrote, “I thought you were retiring, almost shed a tear.”
Another said, “Bro chill I thought you were announcing your retirement.”
While a third commented, “I can’t believe that we’re missing seeing our King dress up for Met Gala just because of a lousy injury.
“Get better soon, my King.”
James and the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a shock loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
They were beaten 4-1 in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
And James was cryptic when it came to his future in the league.
“I don’t know,” James said.
“I don’t have an answer to that. Something I’ll sit down with my family, my wife and my support group and kind of just talk through it and see what happens.
“And just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play.
“I don’t know the answer to that right now, to be honest. So we’ll see.”
