Jersey Wide Leg Trousers with Stretch, £17.50, M&S

So if you’re looking to add some style to your wardrobe this season, then you’ve come to the right place.

Charli, a fashion fan from the UK was left beaming with her new pair of high waisted trousers, which she claimed are incredibly flattering and great for those who suffer from bloating.

Thrilled with her purchase, Charli took to social media to give her followers a close-up look at her new M&S buy, leaving many totally stunned.

The mum-of-two, who is five foot three inches, managed to get her hands on the viral Jersey Wide Leg Trousers with Stretch, which she described as ‘comfy, flattering and bloat friendly.’

Posting online, Charli shared her short clip modelling the trousers with the caption ‘Girls run to Marks & Spencer for these!! Best trousers I’ve bought in a long time!!’

As she showed off the trousers to her followers, Charli said: “Honestly, when I tell you, these are the most comfortable trousers, they have an elasticated waist, but they look like that tailored, smart look.

“I’m obsessed, I’m petite and they actually did them in petite, which I’m so happy about, so I got the petite length and they are perfect.”

Charli managed to get her hands on the trousers in the charcoal colour, and was eager to praise the elasticated waist.

She also confirmed that she was eager to “grab” the other colours too.

I’m a curvy size 16 and I’ve found the perfect M&S buys – a top cinches in your waist & an Autumn dress is so flattering

Charli then shared: “They’re only £17.50, which for a pair of trousers like this from M&S is an absolute bargain.

“Honestly, run to get them – they are so, so nice, they fit amazing, they look amazing.

Why Everyone Is Loving M&S

Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale revealed to Fabulous why M&S is the shop of the moment. She explained:

“M&S has really pulled it out of the bag this season, there is so much good product to be excited about.

“A brand once known for its ‘frumpy fashion’ that notion is long gone with it now being one of the leading high street stores for womenswear.

“Its handbag range in particular is super strong with them selling 170% vs plan, with lots more designer dupes for just a fraction of the price.

“The brand is now also the #1 for style perceptions, compared to the #3 spot it had last year, this comes from a really strong design team focused on modernising the brand, not only taking into consideration how the pieces look, but how easy they are to wear also.

“Price is also a big factor with you being able to get many good quality pieces all for under £30.

“After having a sneak peak of the upcoming collection there are so many more amazing pieces that are dropping over the next few months to keep your eyes on.

“Think leopard print dresses, colourful co-ords, embroidered boho jackets, plus lots of swimwear and amazing accessories, as well as great wardrobe staples that will last year on year.”

“You can dress them up, but these are perfect with trainers, you can even wear them with boots for work.”

Charli’s easy-to-wear, pull-on trousers are super stylish, with a roomy wide leg.

They are carefully crafted with an elasticated high waist and a hint of stretch for ultimate comfort, making them brilliant for long haul flights.

There are four colours to choose from – black, charcoal, dark navy and dark khaki – but sizes are selling out fast, so you’ll need to move quickly if you want to nab a pair.

Fashionistas beam

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @charli0191, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 241,500 views, 1,685 likes, 91 comments and 666 saves.

Fashionistas were open-mouthed by the gorgeous trousers and many eagerly flocked to the comments to express this.

Fashion tips to make you look rich

Fashion Tips to Elevate Your Look

  1. Invest in Classic Pieces
–Quality Over Quantity: Prioritise well-made, timeless items like a tailored blazer, a little black dress, or a crisp white shirt.

Neutral Colors: Opt for neutral shades such as black, white, beige, and navy, which are versatile and exude sophistication.

  1. Accessorize Wisely

Statement Pieces: Invest in a few high-quality accessories like a designer handbag, a classic watch, or elegant jewelry.
Minimalist Approach: Less is more. Choose one or two standout accessories to avoid looking cluttered.

  1. Tailoring is Key

Perfect Fit: Tailored clothing can make even affordable items look high-end. Ensure your clothes fit perfectly by having them altered if necessary.

  1. Maintain Your Wardrobe

Iron and Steam: Wrinkled clothes can ruin an outfit. Keep your garments wrinkle-free with regular ironing or steaming.
Proper Care: Follow care instructions to keep your clothes looking new. Dry clean when necessary and store items properly.

  1. Footwear Matters

Quality Shoes: Invest in a few pairs of high-quality shoes. Classic pumps, loafers, and sleek boots can elevate any outfit.
Conditioning: Keep your shoes in good condition by cleaning and polishing them regularly.

  1. Monochrome Outfits

Single Color Palette: Dressing in one color or varying shades of a single color can make you look polished and put-together.

  1. Attention to Detail

Grooming: Well-groomed hair, nails, and skin are crucial. A polished appearance starts with personal care.
Subtle Makeup: Opt for a natural makeup look that enhances your features without overpowering them.

  1. Layering

Sophisticated Layers: Layering can add depth and interest to your outfit. Think blazers over blouses, or sweaters over shirts.

  1. Confidence is Key

Own Your Look: Confidence can make any outfit look more expensive. Stand tall and wear your clothes with pride.

By incorporating these tips into your fashion routine, you can effortlessly achieve a luxurious and sophisticated look without breaking the bank.

One person said: “I have these, also obsessed.”

Another added: “I’ve always had these for work…love them.”

A third commented: “I’ve bought in all colours just love love love them.”

Shoppers rave

Not only this, but M&S shoppers took to the website to share their rave reviews of the trousers, which now have an average rating of 4.4 out of five, with over 5,400 reviews.

One fashion fan beamed: “Absolutely amazing trousers, very flattering and comfortable. I have a few pairs.”

A second chimed in: “Wonderful trousers for the price I paid. Look really classy and fit like a glove. Good choice of colours to choose from.”

Whilst a size 18 woman expressed: “OMG! I have spent so much money in M&S this year! You must have new designers.

“The clothes are well cut and fashionable and the quality of the clothes has also improved. These trousers are great and I now own them in every colour.

Is supermarket fashion the new high street?

DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:

The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.

Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.

Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.

So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?

Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.

A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.

Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.

“I wear them to work with a blazer and trainers. They are as comfortable as pyjamas!

“I’d say the trousers are true to size and despite my ‘height’ they don’t swamp me. They are soft to the touch and hang very well on my less than perfect body.”

Not only this, but another M&S fan chimed in: “The most comfortable trousers I have ever worn! The fabric is delicious, so soft and looks way more expensive.”
