Fantastic Four trailer thrills ahead of Robert Downey Jr Avengers Doomsday return

Two incarnations of the Fantastic Four have existed over the last twenty years, and they’ve not been particularly well received.

Even worse was the dark and gritty 2015 reboot, which left fans disappointed that once again, Marvel’s First Family hadn’t been given their due on the big screen.

Then, the rights went from Fox to Disney, and now, the four superheroes are part of the MCU, alongside Captain America, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange.

Set in an alternate universe’s 1960s, The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal as Mr Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.

Today, the first trailer has launched at the US Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville, Alabama, with the new cast.

Little is known about the plot just yet but what we do know is that John Malkovich has a mystery role alongside Ralph Ineson as Galactus, who we get a sneak peak of in the first teaser trailer.

The retro-futuristic new movie leads into next year’s Avengers: Doomsday starring a returning Robert Downey Jr as the Fantastic Four’s archnemesis Dr Victor von Doom.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits UK cinemas on July 25, 2025.
