F1 LIVE: Red Bull 'set for mass exodus' after Newey as Ferrari sent Verstappen dig

It is finally race week again as we gear up for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix, though one name on everyone’s mind is not one of the drivers but Red Bull chief technology officer Adrian Newey. As a result of the chaos and power struggle at the team, the mastermind behind Max Verstappen’s three title-winning cars is reportedly set to leave.

Newey has a big-money contract until the end of 2025, but is said to want to part ways with the team early, at the end of the current campaign.

That has alerted a host of Red Bull’s rivals to the possibility of landing the design chief, with Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin all said to be interested in prising Newey away.

And not only would losing Newey be a hammer blow to Red Bull’s chances of repeating their title heroics of the previous three seasons, they have also been warned that senior members of the 65-year-old’s team may leave with him.

Also ahead of the Miami race, McLaren driver Lando Norris was spotted wearing bandages on his face after picking up an injury in Amsterdam, though he isn’t expected to miss any of the weekend.
