Lewis Hamilton has been named co-chair for the 2025 Met Gala – one of the world’s most prestigious fashion events.
The seven-time world champion is joined by fellow co-chairs Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky and Colman Domingo, as well as honorary chair LeBron James for the theme ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’.
Hamilton spoke at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York after the news was announced.
“I’m beyond honored to be one of the co-chairs for next year’s Met Gala,” he said. “This theme speaks to me deeply.
“Growing up as the only Black kid on the track, so often that pressure got to me. For Black people across the diaspora, fashion is self-preservation. Fashion is resilience, and I can’t wait to further explore and amplify our underrepresented voices.”
