It’s another Grand Prix-less weekend in the world of Formula One, but that doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of news. There has been a whirlwind of off-track storylines since the 2024 season began last month, with plenty going on up and down the F1 paddock.
Ahead of F1’s return to Shanghai for the first time since 2019 next weekend, there remains plenty of speculation and gossip around the futures of several drivers – namely Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen.
Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari means there is no room for Sainz with the Scuderia for 2025 and he could now directly swap places with the Brit to join Mercedes. Despite rumours, Verstappen will not be leaving Red Bull.
But his team-mate Perez’s future is less secure despite three P2 finishes from four races so far this season. The Mexican still trails Verstappen by 13 points and has won just two of the last 26 races, with his Dutch rival winning 22 times in the same timespan.
