There are endless cleaning hacks on TikTok and Instagram but how many of them do you use?

While some are great not all of them are time-saving or cost effective. However, experts have shared their low-cost cleaning hacks which only include a few ingredients.

Hydrogen peroxide helper

While you may not have heard of this ingredient before it can do wonders in your home.

Hydrogen peroxide works as a disinfectant and can be used in several ways to clean. Here are a few ways you can use the product.

Grout

Mix hydrogen peroxide with baking soda to make a paste. Then apply it to grout lines, let it sit for a few minutes, and scrub with a toothbrush.

Toilet bowl

Pour half a cup of hydrogen peroxide into the toilet bowl and let this sit for 20 minutes. Then scrub to disinfect and brighten the bowl.

Laundry whitener

First, add a cup of hydrogen peroxide to your washing machine. This will help boost the whitening power of your laundry detergent.

Olive Oil

Not only is olive oil great for your salads and to dip into bread but can also work as a great polish. Here is how you can use the product.

Furniture

All you have to do is mix two parts of olive oil with one part of lemon juice. Apply this to wood furniture with a soft cloth to polish and protect the item.

Stainless steel

Apply a small amount of olive oil to a cloth and buff stainless steel appliances to remove any smudges and fingerprints.

Cornflour

The ingredient is great for cooking and acting as a thickening agent to create sauces or gravy. However, did you know it is great for absorbing grease and polishing surfaces? Here is how.

Glass Cleaner

Mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a quarter cup of warm water. Use it to clean windows and mirrors for a streak-free shine.

Carpet stains

First of all, you will need to sprinkle cornstarch on a fresh grease stain. Then let this sit for 15-20 minutes and vacuum it up.
