One of several Jane Does suing Sean “Diddy” Combs for sexual assault has reportedly been identified as the ex-wife of hockey star Evander Kane.
Citing newly filed legal documents, TMZ reports a judge ordered Anna Kane must reveal her identity, which had so far been hidden, if she wishes to move forward with the suit.
In a statement issued to the outlet on Friday, Kane said she had “hoped to use a pseudonym in pursuing justice for what happened to me as a teenager,” but was forced by the hip-hop mogul’s legal team to give up her anonymity.
“Defendants’ demand that I use my name was an attempt to intimidate me, but I am not intimidated,” she said. “I am prepared to proceed and hold accountable those who have harmed me.”
Kane, who filed her lawsuit last December, claims she was a 17-year-old high school junior from Detroit when Harve Pierre, then the president of Diddy’s Bad Boy record label, flew her to New York City in 2003 and brought her to a recording studio. There, she alleges the men plied her with drugs and alcohol and then took turns raping her.
Her lawsuit contained multiple photographs, including one of Kane sitting on Combs’ lap, which she says were taken on the night in question.
Combs has denied any wrongdoing and previously sought to get the suit dismissed, saying it was filed too late under New York State law.
Kane was previously married to NHL star Evander Kane, who currently plays for the Edmonton Oilers. The wed in 2018 and welcomed a daughter in 2020, before Anna Kane filed for divorce in 2021.
Combs is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits trial on multiple charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. The music mogul has repeatedly been denied bail since his arrest in September.
Kane’s case against him is a civil matter filed in the Southern District of New York. She currently resides in Canada.
