Everyone else can see the stupidity of Ed Miliband’s dogmatic dash for Net Zero

IT’S a bit rich when eco-loon Ed Miliband accuses everyone else of having “an ideological agenda” because they can see the stupidity of his dogmatic dash for Net Zero.

The Tories, Reform and even the trade unions are all talking “nonsense and lies” when they point out that his unaffordable green agenda will cost jobs and drive up bills, according to the deluded zealot.

But his political critics are not alone.

Ordinary people, too, think he’s as bonkers as a Just Stop Oil protester.

He sticks unswervingly to policies that will do nothing to lessen global emissions but will certainly reduce our energy security as we rely on expensive imported fossil fuels with a greater carbon footprint.

Perhaps he will listen to the voters when they have their say in ten days’ time, though we doubt it.

Senior Labour figures have nervously suggested to PM Sir Keir Starmer that his Energy Secretary has lost the plot and will lose them seats, not just in the local elections on May 1 but in the next General Election.

A new poll suggests Miliband will lose his seat of Doncaster North to Reform.

If Starmer sees sense he will have sacked Miliband long before then.

Ed Miliband won’t turn Britain into a “clean energy superpower”, he’ll put UP energy bills, destroy jobs and we’ll have blackouts says Julia Hartley-Brewer

CHINESE agents are planting bugs in bushes, on park benches and in luxury hotels near to the Houses of Parliament to snoop on MPs and Commons staff, security sources warn.

It’s hard to know which is more shocking: the brazen way in which China spies on Britain, or the idea that their espionage chiefs actually think they will catch civil servants getting that close to the office.

Too many already avoid security “hotspots” like, er, their places of work.

If you wanted to highlight the madness of allowing so many civil servants to work from home, then the perfect example is surely the case of the Government worker apparently caught entertaining clients on an X-rated video chat room when she was giving out pensions advice on the phone.

At least she could probably claim to be more productive than a lot of her colleagues….just not for the taxpayer.

His Eggcellence

YOU would hardly know the King had had a brief hospital stay last month — linked to his ongoing cancer treatment — as he led the royals at the traditional Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle yesterday.

With smiles and waves, the King and Queen greeted well-wishers with their usual cheerfulness.

Not even the appearance of his disgraced brother Prince Andrew could darken the mood.

Happy Easter, Your Majesty.
