Europa League draw LIVE: Man Utd, Tottenham, Rangers learn opponents and path to final

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers will learn their Europa League round-of-16 opponents when the draw takes place in Nyon, Switzerland this afternoon. In line with the new format of UEFA competitions this season, every team will also discover their potential path to the final in Bilbao on May 21.

All three British clubs automatically qualified for the last 16 by finishing the league phase in the top eight, avoiding a treacherous knockout play-off round.

United finished third after recovering from starting their campaign with three draws against Twente, FC Porto and Fenerbahce under Erik ten Hag, having led in each match.

Ruud van Nistelrooy oversaw a victory against PAOK before Ruben Amorim’s first four European games as head coach involved wins over Bodo/Glimt, Viktoria Plzen, FCSB and Rangers.

Tottenham are paired with United after finishing fourth, meaning the two Premier League giants can’t meet until the final.

Ange Postecoglou’s side also won five of their league phase games, but drew two and tasted defeat against Galatasaray.

Rangers crept into the last 16 in eighth despite their final-day defeat to United, courtesy of having the best goal difference of the four clubs with 14 points.
