A new Evercade retro gaming collection is on the way, and it’s another good one!
Launching in April this year, the Atari Arcade 2 cartridge contains ten classic Atari games, including all-time classic Berzerk.
It’s the first new Atari cartridge since late 2021, and the sixth Atari Evercade collection overall.
Fans will be able to pre-order the new Atari Arcade 2 Evercade collection from February 25.

As you can see from the trailer below, the new Atari collection also contains the likes of Frenzy, “complete with its pioneering speech synthesis”.
That’s on top of maze chase games such as Lost Tomb and Tazz-Mania, as well as arcade rarities including Rescue, Mine Field, Dark Planet, Moon War and the underrated Fire Truck.
The inclusion of Maze Invaders is also noteworthy, as the rare prototype never actually made it to the arcades.
While I’m really excited to see more Atari games join the Evercade line-up, it does expose a flaw with collecting the cartridges.
All of the previous Atari Evercade cartridges are listed as “Legacy” releases on the company’s website.
This means they’re no longer in production, and can only be purchased on auction sites like eBay, or from retailers such as CEX.
If you’re new to Evercade and want a complete collection – especially with a new Atari cartridge on the way – you’re going to have to pay a lot more to get your hands on these increasingly rare cartridges from the early days of the platform.
It’s also worth pre-ordering early to avoid disappointment, especially with recent releases like Toaplan Arcade 4 selling out fast.
