After doing their talking off the pitch, Harry Kane and his fellow England team-mates will be desperate to shut their critics up on it when they take on Slovenia tonight in Cologne. The Three Lions came in for criticism after their 1-1 draw with Denmark last time out.
Among those critics were Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, with Kane and Declan Rice a number of players to issue them with stern responses.
But they know more than anyone how important it is for England to put on a show against Slovenia this evening as they look to top Group C.
The Three Lions currently sit top with four points, knowing a victory will guarantee them first-place while a draw also could if Denmark fail to beat Serbia in their final group match.
But realistically, anything other than a win would heap further pressure and scrutiny on Gareth Southgate’s squad ahead of the knockout stages.
England will opt for a similar starting XI to those picked against Serbia and Denmark. Southgate also faces a dilemma over his midfield, with Conor Gallagher expected to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
