England face Denmark in their second match of Euro 2024 tonight (5pm) knowing victory will guarantee them their spot in the knockouts of the tournament.
The Three Lions’ second match takes them to Frankfurt where they face a Denmark side who drew 1-1 with Slovenia in their Group C opener. England meanwhile beat Serbia 1-0 through Jude Bellingham’s header.
The runners-up at the last Euros, England know three points here would seal passage to the round of 16 with a game to spare.
Depending on Slovenia’s result in the 2pm match against Serbia, Gareth Southgate’s side could even secure themselves as group winners tonight by beating the Danes.
Denmark themselves reached the semi-finals at Euro 2020 and it was Harry Kane and co. who halted their run at Wembley.
The captain’s extra-time winner settled matters that night three years ago but this evening’s match must be decided in 90 minutes with Manchester United duo Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund bidding to help cause an upset at Deutsche Bank Park.
