Jessie Dingle (played by Sandra Marvin) will be leaving Emmerdale shortly after arriving in the village in 2017.
As the star confirmed the news, Jessie’s ex-husband Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) turned up in the dales and the character is set to cause trouble for his ex-wife.
Al arrived on the scene in a flashy car and revealed his business is doing so well that he now wants the opportunity to help his son, Ellis Chapman (Asan N’Jie).
Initially, Ellis wanted nothing to do with his dad but in tonight’s instalment viewers watched as he agreed to the investment opportunity his estranged dad offered.
After Ellis agreed, Al left Jessie’s family home and took a phone call.
“Sorry I’m late, I got held up,” he began to the mystery caller.
“Everything going well your end, he asked before revealing: “No, don’t worry. I’ll be sticking round this dump for a while to see it through.”
Could calculating villain Kim Tate (Claire King) be the mystery caller?
If so, will Ellis get caught up in Al’s dodgy dealings forcing Jessie to take the blame and go on the run?
Earlier in tonight’s episode, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) tried to warn Al off before the businessman convinced him investing would be a good idea.
“Which part of ‘We don’t want you staying around here’ did you not understand?” Billy warned.

Al hit back: “I got the message but I reckon you’re the last person who should be giving it.
“I’m sure you’ve heard it enough times yourself, coming out of nick, can’t catch an even break, you must have noticed that.”
“Maybe but what has that got to do with you,” Billy remarked.
Al replied: “I’m looking for a second chance too I know I messed up before but I turned my life around.
“I’m a success now, is it so wrong that I want to share that with my family?”
But Billy quipped: “I’m not sure I can trust word you say.”
“You know the money I’m offering could turn your business dreams into a reality, ain’t that worth the risk?” Al questioned.
Meanwhile Jessie star Sandra confirmed to her fans she would be leaving the ITV soap with a social media post.
She tweeted: “So it’s out… I’m leaving the lovely Dales, and will be joining the fabulous @TheThunderGirls this September.
“I’ve had the most amazing time on @emmerdale with some incredible people.
“Also thank you to all the #Emmerdale fans for your support! You really are the best! xx.”
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
