Last night’s edition of the popular northern soap saw Ellis Chapman (played by Asan N’Jie) lose control and injure Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) as his panic attacks became too difficult to ignore.

Meanwhile his brother Billy (Jay Kontzle) desperately tried to take charge of the situation after warning enemy Max not to return to the village.

Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) also returned to Emmerdale and was devastated to learn what her best friend Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) had been through after her rape trauma, and promised to support the chef with her decision to keep Lee Posner’s (Kris Mochrie) baby.

But while the drama ploughed forward in the countryside village, viewers were more concerned when they realised the unbelievably high price of a Woolpack orange juice on the ITV soap.

The moment took place in a scene which saw Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) serving Billy in the pub.

The labourer was buying Amy a drink as the pair struck up a connection only one day after he’d slept with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) and viewers were completely flabbergasted by the result.

For one thing, Chas charged the punter £1.70 for an incredibly small glass of the refreshing beverage.

But for another, viewers would expect the small village to have much lower prices in general than what’s expected in expensive cities in the United Kingdom.

Taking to Twitter, viewers couldn’t resist sharing their thoughts over the bizarre price.

“£1.70 for that little dribble of orange juice? Chas & Charity are ripping people off,” one person slammed.

Another declared: “I’m sorry. £1.70 for a SHOT of orange juice..”

“£1.70 for half a glass full of orange juice,” a third agreed.

While a fourth said: “£1.70 for the tiniest glass of orange juice I’ve ever seen #emmerdale.”

“£1.70 for half a glass of orange juice??? Jesus! I’ve not drunk it since I was a kid but surely one of those tiny bottles isn’t £1.70 now??! #Emmerdale,” a fifth questioned.

And a sixth exclaimed: “£1.70 for an orange juice!! #emmerdale.”

Also this week, it was revealed Robert Sugden star Ryan Hawley will be departing the soap before the end of the year.

Fans of the Robert and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) relationship were devastated, but as the theories began rolling in, many were speculating producers would find a way to keep them together and leave the door open for Ryan to return to the village in the future.

One way to do this is to have Robert’s revenge spiral out of control, eventually ending up with him murdering Lee and being sent to prison.

Aaron has experienced his own stint in prison, so he would likely have no problem in supporting his beloved husband through his time behind bars.

One person guessed: “Sad news and I guess his exit might end up being connected with the current rape storyline with Victoria.”

“If they split Aaron and Robert up I will be so so annoyed,” another fan worried. “I hate to think about it the only way that #emmerdale can properly do this is to kill Robert off.

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
