Emma Raducanu winning Wimbledon 'a matter of when not if' as confident Brit speaks out

Emma Raducanu claims that winning Wimbledon is “a matter of when” not if. In a confident statement, the Brit shared her belief that she will one day lift the trophy at her home Grand Slam tournament.

The 21-year-old broke through at Wimbledon back in 2021 as a wildcard, reaching the second week while ranked outside of the world’s top 300.

She followed it up by winning the US Open as a qualifier later that year and she is now targeting her second Major crown.

“I feel good. I’m playing well and I’m training really hard, I’m doing a lot of good things and I know it’s going to happen,” the world No. 205 told Grazia.

With The Championships now five weeks away, Raducanu believes that she will be able to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish eventually, even if it’s not in 2024. She continued: “If not this Wimbledon, the next Wimbledon.

“I fully back myself and trust myself. It’s just a matter of when really. I’ve been doing all the right things so I’m just looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd.”

Since her Wimbledon debut three years ago, Raducanu has only made one other appearance at the All England Club. She reached the second round in 2022, losing to Caroline Garcia.

The former world No. 10 was forced to skip the entire grass-court swing last year as she ended her season in April to have surgeries on both of her wrists and one ankle.
