Emma Raducanu has been spotted driving her second-hand Dacia Sandero.
The tennis star purchased her beloved car just days before the coronavirus pandemic four years ago, forking out £5,000 for the vehicle shortly after she had passed her test.
However, the 21-year-old had left the Dacia Sandero on the drive since her US Open success, with her surge of fame seeing the Bromley star secure a series of lucrative sponsorship deals with top brands, including Porsche.
The deal saw Raducanu land a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet as part of the agreement, though the car appears to have returned to the company after the Brit has endured a shaky few years since her success at Flushing Meadows.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Raducanu had the motor, worth £125,000, ‘taken away’ after the endorsement deal concluded. Porsche are said to have confirmed that the tennis star is only ‘loaned a car’ on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis.
According to The Sun, Raducanu is now back driving her Dacia Sandero and has been spotted in her first car on several occasions recently.
The world No. 54 has spoken previously about how much she adores the car, insisting that she has no intention of ever selling the vehicle. Speaking in 2021, Raducanu told The Sun: “My dad is Romanian and a Dacia was his first car.
“So, yeah, I have a white Dacia Sandero. It was funny, I passed my test three days before the first lockdown and we sort of knew it was going into lockdown, so we needed to buy a car ASAP. I bought it second-hand for £5,000. I take care of her. I’m never going to get rid of it.”
