Ben (played by Max Bowden) wanted to destroy his dad’s empire but when he came back to the BBC soap he found there was nothing left as Phil (Steve McFadden) was in a lot of debt.
Lola (Danielle Harold) returned to EastEnders alongside Ben and she’s a reluctant partner in his scheming as he wants to build Phil back up only to tae everything from him.
Ben has already riven wedge between Lola and former beau Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and unbeknownst to her, he’s threatened her now ex-fiancé with death.
But fans think villainous Ben could finally get his comeuppance by being exposed by Lola.
In a poll conducted by Express.co.uk, 54 per cent of viewers think Lola will be the one to reveal what Ben’s really up to.
In wouldn’t come as a surprise considering how much he’s been pressuring her to go along with their charade.
However, 14 per cent think Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) will tell all on Ben.
The hostilities between the pair have been made clear as Keanu was acting as Phil’s right-hand man before Ben came back on the scene.
If Keanu were to find out what’s he really up to, will Keanu spill to protect Phil?
Another candidate could be Jay who is clearly not entirely over Lola although he is trying to make a proper go of things with Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton).
A total of 13 percent think he could expose what Ben’s up to.
Meanwhile, six percent think it could be Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) and five percent have gone with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
Less likely suspects could be Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) and her son Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) who each received three percent of the vote.
Finally, only two percent think it could be Ben’s own brother Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
Tuesday’s episode saw Sharon discover that Ben only came back because Phil was in financial trouble.
Up until then, Sharon had no idea how much debt Phil had got himself in to until Kathy spilled all.
Phil himself then discovered that Ben had gone behind his back to contact Danny Hardcastle (Paul Usher) and muscle in on the business Phil refused to do.
He was furious that he had been double-crossed by his son but Sharon thought they could sort things out.
So while Lola is the likely candidate as she’s the only one who currently knows the full extent of the situation, it seems that it’s not long before everyone else could find out.
What will happen to Ben if his scheme is uncovered?
EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
