EASTENDERS’ fans have been left feeling rage at bosses for bringing back a villain saying “they’ve run out of ideas”.

Lauren Branning and Peter Beale’s engagement party was disrupted in a shocking scene last night.

Partygoers at Harry’s Barn were left reeling when a face from the past crashed their engagement bash.

Peter was seen sneaking off for mysterious phone calls throughout the episode which had fans wondering what was going on.

And after a final appointment with the midwife, who gave Lauren a clean bill of health – the couple made their way to Harry’s Barn for their celebration.

But they were soon ambushed by an unexpected face from their past.

Just as George was toasting to the happy couple and the Beale. Cindy appeared quipping: “Don’t tell me I missed the party.”

Everyone looked shocked to see her, especially Lauren who appeared angry at the intrusion.

Cindy and Lauren have had a contentious relationship throughout the drama.

Soap fans were also furious at her return and one said: “When the scriptwriters run out of ideas they bring Cindy back.”

Another added: “Cindy should have never been resurrected – she hasn’t grown as a character at all.”

“Who’s idea was it to bring Cindy back I’m so jarred” exclaimed another.

EastEnders’ Harry Mitchell left reeling after making a heart-breaking discovery about his dead girlfriend

One fan however expected someone else to gate crash the party and was left disappointed: “Well I’m disappointed that, that was Cindy rocking back up, and not Max” they said.

“Oh yay Cindy’s back” said another sarcastically.

“Who Cindy back?” added another frustrated viewer.

But another made their feelings clearer and said: “Oh ffs Cindy is back.”

Soap icon Cindy previously fled in February after surviving the Queen Vic explosion.

She had tried to blackmail ex-husband Ian Beale into handing over half their money.

Otherwise, she would report his mum Kathy for trying to kill her at Christmas.

Ian soon countered this by threatening to expose her shooting him and pushing him in front of a car.

This had caused Reiss Colwell to crash into the Vic, leading to the explosion.

After taking the money under agreement that she leaves – she said a cool goodbye to her family.

Recent lover Junior Knight chased her to the tube station and asked her: “I don’t understand why you’re letting Ian get away with it.”

“Oh no-one’s getting away with anything,” Cindy told him.

“I’m just happy for them to think they have, for now,” she added.

With that, she swanned into the tube station to leave Walford for a spell while she plots her revenge.

But now that she’s back what does she have in store? There are a few ideas here.
