‘Sounds like a major nationwide outage’
Frustrated users are calling on EarthLink to put an outage message on their home page to keep customers informed of the company’s progress in tackling the issue.
Reports continue to drop
After over 2,800 users reported issues with email on EarthLink, the issue now appears to be starting to resolve.
Just before 1 pm, only about 200 users were still complaining about the outage on Downdetector.
EarthLink confirms outage
EarthLink confirmed a Webmail outage in a statement.
“We’re aware of an issue that’s affecting access to WebMail,” EarthLink said on X.
“Our team is working urgently to restore service. We’ll share updates as soon as we have them.
“Thank you for your patience—we know how important email is, and we’re doing everything we can to restore your mailbox.”
Reports still rising on Downdetector
Nearly 3,000 users have now reported outages on EarthLink – 93% say they are having problems with their email service, with a further 4% reporting issues with the website and 3% experiencing difficulties with accessing the internet.
