The UEFA Euro 2024 Football Championship is about to kick off, with Scotland facing hosts Germany in the opening game on June 14. England fans will have to wait until June 16 for the Three Lions to begin their campaign, as Gareth Southgate’s men line up against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen. With the start of the tournament just over a week away, video game fans can get in the mood by downloading the official Euro 2024 update for EA Sports FC 24. After weeks of speculating when the official tournament mode would join the popular football sim, Electronic Arts confirmed that the Euro 2024 update would have a June 6 release date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC. While there’s no official release time, similar game modes from previous tournaments have launched at around 10am UK time. In terms of what fans can expect, the UEFA Euro 2024 update will bring a host of new features to EA FC 24.
For starters, fans should be able to select the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament as a separate game mode from the main menu.
Fans will be able to play through the tournament with all of the official standings, groups, squads and players, something that will be updated as the competition progresses.
It’s likely fans will also be able to create their own Euro 2024 tournaments, taking teams through qualification and into the finals.
New commentary is likely to be recorded for the tournament, complete with updated analysis and background for each team.
That’s on top of the latest kits, official tournament balls and perhaps additional stadiums that will feature in the actual championships.
Needless to say, Ultimate Team will also receive a number of updates and new features to coincide with the tourney.
This includes various squad building challenges and exclusive cards released for the event.
Fans can also expect a Team of the Tournament set of Ultimate Team Cards once the dust has settled.
There’s also a chance Electronic Arts will officially unveil this year’s EA Sports FC game during one of the gaming events taking place during the tournament.
