E-biker struck and killed running red light in Brooklyn


A motorist struck and killed an e-biker after the cyclist ran a red light in Brooklyn on Thursday, cops said.

Muhammad Suleymanov, 24, was barreling his Super 73 e-bike through a red light on Coney Island Ave. when he was struck by the 20-year-old driver of a white BMW X5 heading east on Neptune Ave. in Brighton Beach around 3:30 p.m., according to police.

Paramedics rushed Suleymanov to Langone Hospital in Sunset Park, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.

The BMW driver remained on the scene and no charges have been filed, according to law enforcement.

The crash is being investigated by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
