DWP 'quick calculator check' could boost your income by £3,900

These are testing times for our finances. But help is at hand and you could be eligible for financial support.

It takes a quick check to see if you can get £3,900.

There are certain conditions.

If you’re struggling on a low-paying job, living with debilitating health conditions, or have a disability, you’ll be eligible for financial support.

So too if you’re raising a family or have experienced bereavement recently.

A money boost isn’t just for those young enough to be working. Anyone on a state pension might also be eligible for an Attendance Allowance or more money through pension credits.

All it takes is 10 minutes to use an online benefits calculator. It could be the boost you need before summer’s out.

It’s worth saying that there’s around £19 billion in government support available that has gone unclaimed in the last 12 months.

The majority of benefits need to be claimed from the Department of Work and Pensions. Some applications can take up to 16 weeks for payments to be resolved, but most are quick.

Here’s a full list of those who can:

  • You’re unable to work because of ill health

  • you’re of working age on a low income

  • You’re over State Pension age on a low income

  • you’ve been made redundant

  • you’re looking for work

  • you’re raising a family

  • you have a child who is disabled or has a health condition

  • you are disabled or have a health condition

  • you’re caring for someone

  • you have lost a loved one
