DRIVERS have been left outraged over a new fine that’s marked as a premium parking rule – with fees increasing depending on the date.
Fans of the artist Post Malone were left stunned recently when they discovered a major city’s popular concert venue announced on social media it would charge $60 for parking.

In a statement, city officials informed KSAT that it adjusted parking fees for premium spaces adjacent to the venue for major events as of October 1, 2024.
Parking rates now range from $10 to $60, depending on the type of event – compared to the previous rates of $10 to $40.
A spokesperson later said that the venue only has 2,700 parking spots, while the Post Malone concert was considered a premium parking event – resulting in the $60 fee.
The Alamodome venue, located in San Antonio, Texas, is well known in the city for its mega concerts – having hosted the likes of Shakira, The Rolling Stones, U2, Metallica and Elton John in the past.
A percentage of the parking money reportedly goes to the city and the promoter, and they added that the fee adjustment is the result of analyzing parking costs at similar venues.
They used premium parking for a Taylor Swift concert at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in 2024 as an example, which was $100 per space.
What’s more, an upcoming Katy Perry concert at the Moody Center in Austin includes rates of $110 for the closest spots.
Attendees have several other options, according to the city, which includes VIA Park & Ride for $1.30 each way.
There’s also ride-sharing services and the ParkWhiz parking reservation tool – offering varying rates based on proximity to the Alamodome.
The city added: “As always, patrons will be clearly informed of the applicable parking rates when purchasing tickets and through signage at the venue.”
It comes as a San Antonio homeowner has been left fuming after a sidewalk complete with a curb was installed in front of her driveway.
But when she tried to get answers about why the city was blocking her in, she got a frustrating response.
Valerie Rosas said she was initially excited about sidewalk improvements the city was set to make around her home.
But the project ended up being a big headache for her and her neighbor.
She was stunned when she walked out one day to find the city built a mountable sidewalk with a steep curb in front of her driveway.
This meant she was forced to drive over the big curb every time she wanted to leave or return to her house.
Florida’s HOA enforcement

Here is more information on House Bill 1203, Florida’s new HOA regulation:
Florida put a series of guard rails around HOA fine enforcement.
Here is a list of changes homeowners will see by July 1:
- HOAs can no longer restrict parking personal vehicles if they follow state regulations
- Associations must give proper warnings for infractions like garbage bin removal and holiday light displays
- HOAs must keep official records of meetings
- Officials in top HOA positions are subject to criminal prosecution if they accept bribes
- Associations with more than 100 units must publish public information on its website
The law will be most impactful for pickup drivers and emergency vehicle operators.
HOAs will not be allowed to assign fines for pickup drivers who park their vehicles in the driveway.
The law also restricts associations from fining homeowners for emergency vehicle parking.
