Driver tried little known car 'hack' and couldn't believe it actually worked

Motorists have been left utterly gobsmacked after a woman revealed an obscure car “hack” that she is convinced almost no one knew about.

Shannon Mitchell from Belfast couldn’t believe her ears when her boyfriend mentioned the hack, which he assumed was common knowledge.

In a TikTok video, Shannon showcased the astonishing trick. She added the caption: “I feel like I own a transformer now.”

Shannon remarked: “Please be honest with me if you knew this was a thing, because I only found out yesterday, and I’ve just tried it on my car and it’s just worked, and I am flipping shook.

“My boyfriend seems to think everyone knows this, but I didn’t, so I’m convinced there’s other people that don’t know.”

She then describes deliberately leaving her car window down after switching off the engine and stepping out. “So you get out of your car and you lock your car, you then realise, ‘oh, —-, I have left my windows down,'” she narrated.

Shannon went on to explain that her boyfriend shared a tip for closing the windows without having to unlock and restart the car.

By double-clicking the lock button and then holding it down, the windows will automatically rise again, reports Wales Online.

She added: “Please tell me I’m not the only person that didn’t know about this. And when you see this, it gets better, you can actually put them down as well, just watch.”

This time Shannon pressed and held the unlock button, subsequently all her windows started to open. The video has amassed over 166,200 views, sparking 11,800 likes and 367 comments.

Online users aired their amazement at this hack in the comments section, while some were of the opinion that ‘everyone’ already knew about it.

Megan Eva Jane expressed: “I wish my car was this high tech, I still have roll windows in the back.”

‘MD’s Wax Melts’, amusedly noted, “I thought everyone knew this,” Meanwhile, Robyn H curiously added, “I need to try this.”

Eimear Brennan commented bewilderedly: “There is no wayyy.”

Jasmine Castagner posted: “Omg this saves me so much TIME when I’m already sweating, thank you.”

Paulina confirmed the hack by stating: “I just tried this and can confirm it worked on my 2010 polo.”

Shauna responded excitedly: “Omg I just tried that and it worked. Also if ur opening the car, hold the button in and the windows go down.”
