The surprise started when TikTok user @ohsoretro posted a video of her Jeep Renegade’s fuel door.
While pumping gas, she noticed something unusual: a molded design at the bottom right of the gas cap area.
Upon closer inspection, it was revealed to be a cartoon-like spider saying, “Ciao, baby!”—a quirky addition that surprised the car owner.
Jeep vehicles are well-known for including hidden “Easter eggs”, small surprises that owners discover over time.
This particular spider, however, seems to be exclusive to Jeep Renegades, and its presence has sparked some debate among fans.
Many believe the spider is a nod to Fiat, the car’s manufacturer in Italy.
The Jeep Renegade is built alongside the Fiat 500X, and Fiat previously produced a car called the Spider.
The quirky design, complete with the spider’s playful message, could very well be a tribute to the Italian automaker.
In the video’s comments, some users expressed their confusion and concern, suggesting Jeep should focus more on the quality of their vehicles than on adding playful touches.
One user even joked, “I would die if I suddenly saw that.”
“Is it any wonder Jeeps don’t last as long? They’re more focused on Easter eggs than on perfecting their vehicles,” another user commented.
