Quarterback Tommy DeVito has a “sore” forearm, was limited for Tuesday’s walkthrough practice and is not 100 percent to start for the Giants on Thanksgiving Day at Dallas, coach Brian Daboll said.
DeVito somehow was not on Monday’s injury report after getting pummeled by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday but is now in jeopardy of not playing on Thursday.
Daboll said he first found out about DeVito’s arm issue on Tuesday morning when he walked into the building wearing a sleeve. The coach said Lock would receive some snaps in Tuesday’s walkthrough.
Lock was passed over by the Giants last week despite being the season-long backup. He didn’t like it, but he didn’t let it prevent him from being ready to play if they called on him the next time.
“The last thing I wanted to do was not be prepared if that were to ever happen,” Lock told the Daily News Sunday. “You feel that way every single week. There was an opportunity to sulk a little bit and f–kin’ be pissed, but that’s not who I am. That’s not what I was gonna do. “I was gonna go in and prepare like I have been all year, be there for Tommy,” he said. “And if anything was gonna happen, be ready. Kind of like my job is normally.”
