Drake booed at Limp Bizkit concert in his hometown of Toronto

Drake’s appearance at a Limp Bizkit concert in his hometown of Toronto drew heavy boos from those in the crowd, seeming to surprise the band’s frontman Fred Durst.

The “6 God” rapper, 37, attended the show at the Budweiser Stage on Thursday night, where Durst gave him a shout out from the stage.

“Did you know Drake’s here tonight?” Durst asked the audience.

But the mere mention of Drizzy, who’s widely considered to have lost his recent rap battle against Kendrick Lamar, drew the ire of what appeared to be the vast majority of concertgoers.

Heavy boos can be heard in one video circulating on social media, with Durst responding: “I thought Drake was your homie? What? No? Drake’s my homie.”

The boos only appeared to intensify, with one fan even shouting an expletive at the mention of Drake’s name.

Some users online noted the inherent disconnect in Durst’s message.

“It’s a 40-50 year old crowd full of white male rock fans. Of course they don’t like Drake,” wrote one user.

But others were shocked that the rapper would be booed in his own hometown.

“I know the fans typically wouldn’t mix together, but that’s in Toronto. I know they know who Drake is, and to boo him?! You already know why,” wrote another, possibly implying his recent embarrassment with his Kendrick Lamar beef.

During Drake and Lamar’s exchange of diss tracks in April and May, the rappers fired off some serious accusations at each another, including Lamar’s claims that Drake is guilty of pedophilia and has secretly fathered a second child — both of which Drake later denied.
