Donald Trump's cognitive health 'has gotten worse' and ex-aide warns 'age is a problem'

Donald Trump’s former aide has claimed that he is becoming less “sharp” as speculation over his health continues.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, White House Director of Strategic Communications and Assistant to the President in 2020, added that voters should see that Trump’s age “is also an issue.”

Appearing on CNN, she was asked by presenter John Berman: “You saw Donald Trump firsthand when he was, albeit four years or several years younger, at least. How much does he miss or mix up facts and the like?”

She replied: “I have said this before, he is not as sharp as he was in 2016 and not even as sharp as he was in 2020.”

Griffin added that Trump “is not the strongest fighter that Republicans could have right now,” and that it’s “remarkable how much voters don’t see [his] age as also an issue because he is only three and a half years younger than President Joe Biden.”

Last November, Trump’s doctor said he was in “excellent health.”

Dr Bruce Aronwald said: ‘I have been President Donald J. Trump’s personal physician since 2021.

“During this time, I have conducted several comprehensive examinations, the most recent being September 12, 2023, and have supervised specialist consultations along with ancillary testing for screening and preventative health maintenance.

“I am pleased to report that President Trump’s overall health is excellent. His physical exams were well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional.

“In addition, his most recent extensive laboratory analysis remains well within normal limits and was even more favorable than prior testing in some of the most significant parameters, most likely secondary to weight reduction.”
