It’s been joyous this week watching the outrage and the self-righteousness of the cultural elites and those Leftie Luvvie pundits here in Britain who still cannot believe Trump is going to the White House.
They literally cannot contain themselves. Some are shouting and swearing about “Donald the Devil.” Others are weeping all over social media about how “heartbroken” they are. Others were reported to be crying in the streets. There was tearful talk about “dark dawns” and “fascist processes” – all because the Bad Orange Man is now President.
The humourless Leftie radio presenter James O’Brien wailed on air:”What Fresh Hell is this?” And Guardian newspaper boss, Kath Viner took the hysteria to a new level by sending her traumatised staff an email offering them “free support services” signalling that maybe SHE’s the one in need of support – and not necessarily over Trump’s election.
Leftie big mouth Carol Vorderman made a fool of herself yet again having spent the week screaming that millions of women were turning out to vote for Harris. And Yes, they did vote – but for Trump!
The sneering Alastair Campbell who arrogantly imagines he has a cast iron grasp on American politics had been shouting all week that Harris was “unstoppable” and Trump was “floundering”.
Yet just hours later the “floundering” Trump was declared president with a FIVE MILLION majority and didn’t lose a single state against the woman who has to be THE worst presidential candidate in history.
So what does that say about the know-it-all Campbell’s political acumen and his judgement? It says – quite clearly – he has neither.
Then there was Ex-Tory wet Rory Stewart. How much of an idiot must he feel now? Not only did he put on an enormous bet on Harris to win he spent the days before the election telling us all: “She’ll win comfortably.”
Then just to confirm his total lack of understanding about this election he proclaimed: “Ignore the polls. Journalists would like the U.S election to seem as close as possible because it suits their appetite for suspense.”
And there you have it – proof that he too knew and understood nothing.
Best of all was the sanctimonious Emily Maitlis whose hatred of Trump is so visceral that she lost the plot on Channel 4’s Election special and swore about him live on air and has to be removed from the show.
But what’s truly hilarious – and shows how clueless and out of touch all these bozos are – is that the prospect Trump might win had never even entered their tiny minds – not for a second. In their smug, sanctimonious heads they believed he moral majority would never vote for Trump.
They’d already decided women wouldn’t. Nor would ethnic minorities. But guess what – both did in their multi millions.
But actually it’s funny. Because Maitlis sees herself as some classy, political intellect delivering “Truth” to the nation when she’s nothing of the sort. She’s a gobby, belligerent Leftie who’s incapable of hiding her political bias even when it’s her job to do so.
And if anyone dares to disagree with her bigoted world view she insults them – not the way a professional TV presenter should behave.
London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan even had the brass neck to say after the result: “This is a reminder for everyone that London is for everyone.”
He was trying to make the point about London being a diverse city clearly not understanding that the people who voted for Trump were from ethnic minorities.
But what Trump’s election has shown is that the elites and Leftie pundits and presenters both here and Stateside really have no clue about the people they’re talking to – normal, hard-working people. They think THEIR beliefs are the moral ones and those who disagree are dismissed as Far Right thickies who must be ignored.
It’s Brexit all over again – the elites imagining they have the right to lecture the rest of us (the plebs) about what we should think, feel, even how we should vote. That’s why the pundits in America got it wrong and its why the ones here have made complete idiots of themselves.
They all live in their little Leftie bubble believing they have all the answers – and the rest of us are all stupid. It’s usually those on the Left (who are invariably well off) who think they can tell hard working people worried about how they’re going to pay their energy bills, feed the family and fill up the car that the things they should really be worried about are trans rights, the race to net zero and diversity.
All of those things were right up there on Harris political agenda – and look what America’s response was? Harris has quite rightly paid price for insulting millions of skint Americans who aren’t interested in any of that stuff. What affects their lives is immigration and the economy and she had nothing to say on either.
The pundits Stateside don’t get that. Neither do the ones here. And they never will. They won’t learn from this – their ingrained bias won’t let them.
And all of their spectacularly inaccurate predictions this week, their dogma and their unshakeable belief that Trump was never, ever going back into the White House must surely throw into question their credentials, their judgement and their value.
Because most right thinking people can see exactly why Trump snatched the presidency. He might not be a nice man, he well might be a sexist bully and he’s certainly a convicted felon but right now the American people need a strong leader – one that’s going to look after them at home and one that will protect them in our increasingly volatile world.
But the luvvies and the Lefties can’t get that through their bigoted little skulls. To them gender politics will always be more important that world peace.
