A DOCTOR was arrested after he allegedly tried to murder his wife while hiking on vacation.

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center doctor was chased by police who later arrested him for the attempted murder.

Gerhardt Konig, 46, reportedly tried to kill his wife while on an idyllic birthday vacation in Hawaii.

Konig allegedly attempted to push his wife off a hiking trail and hit her in the head with a rock on Monday morning.

Police posted the doctor’s photo all around the city and quickly caught him on Monday evening.
