Disgruntled man shoots into West Philly home, wounding ex-GF and new beau

A disgruntled ex-boyfriend opened fire into a home in West Philadelphia, wounding two people, including his ex-girlfriend, police said.

The shooting unfolded Monday night on North Peach Street, near Market Street, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Police said the suspect stood outside a residence on the block and started shooting around 11:30 p.m., striking a woman, identified only as his 39-year-old ex-girlfriend. She was hit in the shoulder  and was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

A second person, who police believe to be the female victim’s new boyfriend, was also wounded in the gunfire. He was not identified, but authorities noted that he’s 40 years old.

Police said the gunfire hit the second victim in the neck and that he remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The gunman then fled the scene.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests have been announced. Police did not identify the suspect nor did they offer any sort of physical description.

No other details have been provided but an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
